I'm a dietitian, body image counselor, breathwork facilitator, and yoga teacher. I've helped hundreds of people untangle themselves from food frustration and body image baggage.
Here's what I've noticed: when it comes to eating, most people have been handed two options...
Option one: control it. Track it, shrink it, optimize it, earn it. And when that leaves you anxious or in a cycle of "yo yo dieting"...just try harder.
Option two: burn the rules down. Reject all of it, eat whatever, call the chaos freedom. Except the food noise never actually quiets, and "freedom" starts to feel like a different kind of stuck.
Both these options are exhausting, and neither of them work, because they're both still JUST about the food...one white-knuckling it, one pretending not to care.
The actual thing in your way was never just the food. It's the stress response that has you reaching for something you didn't plan to eat. It's the nervous system that's been in survival mode so long it forgot what calm feels like. It's the body you've been at war with since you were a teenager. And it's the burnout nobody taught you to recognize (let alone recover from).
